ID Badge Policy

Following the recent events that happened in a school in Madison, Wisconsin I am reminding everyone that it is a requirement to have your ID badge with you when at the school or clinical site.

Per the student handbook (page 26) it is a requirement for students to have their school ID on their person when in school and clinical.

Identification Badge Policy

EASTERN and/or ABINGTON ID Badges MUST always BE WORN while at EASTERN, or any of the clinical agencies. Students will not be permitted into the EASTERN building without their EASTERN ID Badge.  Failure to have ID Badge on clinical will result in the student being sent home and receiving one (1) absence day.  Students forgetting ID at Abington Hospital may obtain a replacement ID from the Parking office for a fee.  If this is done, the student may stay at clinical, but will receive one (1) point.

We are asking everyone to play an active role in maintaining the safety at the school.

Please DO NOT:

  • DO NOT - Let ANYONE in the door who doesn’t have an ID.  Your peers should have a visible badge before letting them in.  You will not know which student withdrew from the program.
  • DO NOT - Let food deliveries, vendors, or perspective students into the building.  There is NO reason they need to wait inside the building even if it is 5 degrees outside and snowing.  They wait outside.  Please instruct them to ring the bell and wait for someone from the administration staff to speak with them.

I have instructed the faculty to ask the students to show their ID badges each day throughout the month of January before class or clinical starts.  January will be an amnesty month, but starting in February, the policy will be enforced, and you will not be allowed in the building without you ID.  If you need to purchase a new ID, the cost is $10.

Please reach out to me if you have any questions?
