Per the Student Handbook (page 26), all students are required to have their school-issued identification badge on their person while on campus and at all clinical sites.
Student ID Badge Policy
All students are required to wear their EASTERN and/or Abington Hospital ID badges while on the EASTERN campus or any affiliated clinical site to ensure safety, security, and compliance with institutional and hospital policies.
EASTERN Campus
- Entry to the EASTERN building is not permitted without a valid EASTERN ID badge.
- Temporary Badge:
- A temporary badge can be rented for $10 for the day and must be returned at the end of the day or students may purchase a replacement badge for $25.
- Alternatively, students may leave to retrieve their personal ID from home or their vehicle; lateness or absence rules apply if this impacts the start of theory.
Clinical Sites
- Students must wear their ID badge at all clinical sites.
- Failure to Wear ID:
- The student will be sent home and will receive one (1) clinical absence day.
- Abington Hospital Specific:
- Students who forget their badge may obtain a temporary replacement from the Parking Office for a fee.
- If a replacement is issued, the student may remain at clinical, but one (1) clinical point will be assigned.
Student Responsibilities
- Students are responsible for always having their ID badge during clinical and academic activities.
- Lost or damaged badges must be replaced promptly.
· Students should not let ANYONE in the door who doesn’t have an ID.
· Food deliveries and vendors should be directed to ring the bell and wait for someone from the administration staff to speak with them. Students should NOT let them inside the building.
